Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review

Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review
Lush says "When you’re chewing on life’s gristle, don’t grumble, give a whistle! Hop in the bath with one of these uplifting bubble bars, Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life! Its jazzy bright colours will create magnificent orange bath water, and the sunny citrus fragrance is sure to leave you jolly and refreshed." Oh, I do love a good Monty Python reference - and a good bubble bath, so I picked up a Brightside Bubble Bar as a birthday treat for myself last month. Brightside, which is part of Lush's permanent lineup, is one of the largest Bubble Bars, weighing in at 200g (7 oz), with a $10.95AUD price point to match. Lush is cruelty free, and most of their products, including the Brightside Bubble Bar, are vegan friendly.
Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review
Brightside Bubble Bar has to be the most eye catching product in Lush's lineup - and that's really saying something. This large, circular bubble bar is a mix of retina searing orange and yellow hues, swirled together like a highlighter doodle in your middle school notebook. My photo, while vivid, doesn't do Brightside's colouring any justice. In terms of texture, Brightside is the easiest Bubble Bar to work with, at least that I've tried. Lush's solid bubble baths tend to vary widely in texture, from the rock hard Comforter, to crumbly Ultraviolet, or buttery soft Bubbleroons, Brightside strikes a balance between all three - it's solid, but not difficult to break apart.
Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review
Brightside has been on my wishlist for a while, but it always ended up being pushed to the side for one reason or another - either it's citrusy scent didn't seem seasonal, or something else would end up appealing to me just a little more. I walked into the Lush store in Parramatta with the sole intent of picking up Brightside, and it was love at first bath! A sixth of this Bubble Bar crumbled into an old sock and held under running water will produce a thick layer of foamy, fluffy bubbles while tinting your bathwater an appealing peachy orange hue. Brightside doesn't impart any skin conditioning ingredients into the water like some of Lush's other offerings, but it totally makes up for it's lack of moisturizers with it's longevity. Brightside's bubbles last longer than my bath does (I'm bad at relaxing lmao), and hang around for almost an hour after I drain the tub.

Brightside is such an aptly named scent. This bubble bar has zingy scent that's as bright and uplifting as it's colour. A perfect mix of mandarin, tangerine, and bergamot; the scent is simple and doesn't need much of a description - if you've ever sliced into a juicy orange, you know what Brightside smells like. The scent isn't as potent as many of Lush's other fragrances and doesn't linger on the skin for very long, but it's enough to make your bath experience zesty and fruity. Personally I like Brightside best for a morning or afternoon bath, as it's citrusy orange scent will definitely wake you up.
Lush Brightside Bubble Bar Review
I really enjoyed Lush's Brightside Bubble Bar! I just used up my last chunk of it and I know I'm going to miss it - a sign I should probably repurchase it soon! While Brightside hasn't been my absolute favorite Bubble Bar, it's probably in the top three (after Ultraviolet and Creamy Candy). If you love orange (the fruit, the color, the fragrance, or all of the above), you need to try Lush's Brightside Bubble Bar - it'll brighten up your bath like nothing else.
