McArthur Skincare Complete Skincare Cream Review

McArthur Skincare, a Perth based brand that specialises in pawpaw infused product, kindly sent me several products a couple months ago. I've been testing and enjoying most of them, but I've also passed on a few to my husband Dean, who has sensitive skin. The first product he tried was the Complete Skincare Cream, a face and body moisturizer that contains a whopping 60% pawpaw extract. According to McArthur Skincare, this cream "is a must have product to replenish and maintain healthy skin. It’s suitable for all dry, oily and combination skin types. While it is ideal for maintaining a healthy complexion, you can also use it anywhere on the body." Available in two sizes, 100ml ($27.95) and 240ml ($54.95), as well as a fragrance free version. McArthur Skincare products are cruelty free and made in Australia, and can be purchased via the brand's website (which ships worldwide), and at a handful of chemists and Priceline stores. McArthur's Complete Skincare Cream comes in a plain but convenient squeeze tube. The packaging is clearly labeled and offers a lot of information about the product. Packaging doesn't seem to be recyclable.

I would describe the cream as feeling thick and leaving my hands feeling somewhat "oily" after applying it to the affected areas, but the feeling disappears after 5-10 minutes leaving my hands feeling soft. A natural fruity scent persists for about 15-30 minutes however this can only be smelled very close. It has a pleasant texture and consistency and is easy to get from the tube.

McArthur Natural Products' Complete Skincare Cream has vastly helped my hands' skin condition. For about half a year I had been experiencing dermatitis on my hands and fingers from some unknown cause. The condition would come and go seemingly on its own accord. Now when I notice it returning, I apply the cream liberally on my hands and within 24 hours the dermatitis is drastically reduced or actually gone. Apart from managing my skin problems, it is also excellent at moisturizing my hands whenever they get dry. Typically I will use it after waking up and my hands will feel great for the rest of the day. It has been a great help this Winter with the cold winds and dry air to keeping my hands feel more alive and less like elephant skin.

I'd like to talk briefly about pawpaw extract. Testing has shown that pawpaw extract has theoretical exfoliating properties on the skin. Although it can potentially sensitize the skin, it is not as risky as using the raw papain. The Complete Skincare Cream contains 60% pawpaw extract, which is 20% more than a similar product I've used in the past: Lucas Paw Paw Ointment. On top of that, The Complete Skincare Cream uses additional beneficial ingredients such as glycerin, jojoba seed oil, tocopherol, and beeswax. The Complete Skincare Cream also contains no parabens, sulphates, petrochemicals, or artificial fragrances.

I've enjoyed using McArthur Natural Products Complete Skincare Cream. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a cream to help with their skin conditions, it's helped my dermatitis to the point where I can now go weeks without a breakout, rather than a few days or a week if I'm lucky. It also in general has helped my skin to be healthier and softer. I would love to keep using it for as long as I can and will probably buy it when I run out.
